Ratjamongkon National Park

Only 5 km north of PakMeng Village there is the Ratjamongkon National Park, a wide sea area with beautiful seaview of the northern part of Trang sea, including Koh Lanta.
The Park really is the basecamp of the University of Ratchamongkon and his Acquarium, that host nice tropical fish and some example of dugongo's scheleton, called also sea cow. Many dugongos live in the sea area between koh Libong and Koh kradan. The Park is a protected area of mangroove forest and cliffs on the sea, with caves and big shells. At the north end of the Park there is a new pier wich is the starting point for fishermans to reach Koh Lanta and Koh Ngai. In the 1997 a group of Japanese Natural Researchers wrote the book "Illustrated Fish Fauna of a Mangrove Estuary at Sikao", it-s a collection of all the species that populate this mangrove area, like barracuda, lion fish, king crabs, atc.
